UNIVERSITY OF LAGOS (UNILAG)
Established in 1962 (two years after Nigerian's Independence), UNILAG is a Federal public research university in Lagos, the former Nigerian capital, Southwestern Nigeria.

UNILAG provides quality and research-driven
education to individuals of diverse cultures and locations. It is one of the 5 first
generation universities in Nigeria ranked high in the world in education
publications.
With 131 students on inception, UNILAG had grown
to an academic powerhouse, offering diverse academic opportunities with a
currently estimated student population of about 57,000. UNILAG had been ranked
3rd best university in Africa for entrepreneurship.

The establishment of University of Lagos rose
from the need to encourage and strengthen the training of educated
professionals in various fields to address issues of national development and
industrialization in the newly independent Nigeria.
UNILAG’s vision is to be a top class
institution for the pursuit of excellence in knowledge, character and service
to humanity. Also, her mission is to produce a condusive environment for
teaching, learning, research and development, where staff and students will
interact and compete effectively with other counterparts globally.
