THESE THINGS ARE HARMING YOUR LEARNING AND STUDIES

Things which can harm your study
There are factors that have been studied and understood to affect learning outcomes in individuals. Some of these factors are treated in this article to assist and aid students to boost their learning outcomes.
1.     Do not compare yourself to others: You don’t have to rate your level of progress or success with that of others. As our appearance differs, we all differ in one way or the other. Rating your pace of learning and academic progress with that of your colleagues can negatively affect you psychologically. Rather seek for ways you can improve gradually. Everyone is unique when it comes to instincts and talents. Some may be slow learners but it doesn’t imply that they can’t learn at the end of the day; just that they learn at their pace, which can be improved with consistent mental exercise. Such people who were ab initio considered dullards or slow learners would later go on to change the opinions of many around their lives.
.  2    Desist from negative thinking: Determination and persistence is the root of success. Negative thinking or pessimism will halt your academic progress. Always believe you can do it, no matter the time and energy, because nothing good comes easy. Rid your mind of negative thought and replace that position with ‘I must surely conquer this’

3.      Do not make the mistake of viewing studying as a necessary task only: viewing studying as a necessary task only will halt you from building the vigor and enthusiasm needed to progress academically. Studying should be viewed as an opportunity to increase one’s influence, authority and capability. You study to expand your horizon and derive the benefits that come from it. Since education is the potent tool/weapon you can use to change you community or the globe at large, studying is a golden opportunity. Study is refreshment to the mind and spirit as drinking water is to the body.

4.     Abstain from abnormal social life and personal habits: some social habits can impact negatively on your study outcome. Refrain from social abnormalities and curb your tendencies towards them. Drinking, smoking, pornography, truancy, crimes, movie addiction, bad peers, I-know-it-all behavior, laziness and others have been known to affect learning negatively. A self-disciplined student will always succeed in his/her academic endeavors because none or few things will be competing for his/her attention.
5.     Consume healthy diets and have enough water in-take: A healthy diet contains essential nutrients needed for one’s physical and mental development and maintenance. Some meals may not really be helping your brain health. You can take out your time and look up brain nourishing/boosting vegetables available in the organic stores. Eat balanced diets to stay fit physically and mentally as you study. This page would be updated to expatiate on this. You can also subscribe by entering you e-mail to get updates.
6.     Avoid circumstances that can lead to bugged down mind: You have to prevent such situations that will compete for space in your mind alongside your studies. So many social issues can interfere with your studies when not averted or checked properly. Living a sound moral/social life helps in this aspect.

7.     Avoid absolute thinking: This can be seen as a scenario where an individual analyses his performance and study outcomes and thinks negatively about his potential for improvement. He/she may question their probability of succeeding in exams based on their current/recurrent performances. Such is un-called-for and destructive in nature.  Replace absolute thinking with diligence and optimism. It’s not going to be easy but it is going to worth it. Above all remember that there is no substitute for hardwork.
