JAMB, NO GOING BACK ON THE USE OF NIN

The jamb registrar, prof Is-haq Oloyede, declared that there is no going back on the use of NIN in the conduct of Unified Tertiary Matriculation Exam.
 The registrar who spoke on Wednesday at a meeting with CBT centers, technical advisers and service providers at Kongo conference building, ABU, Zaria, Kaduna state said that those benefitting from registration and examination scandals have been mounting negative campaign against the use of NIN,since the decision was made.
  The JAMB boss said no amount of smear campaign can dissuade the board from using the National Identity Management Number, NIN, saying its part of their efforts to clampdown impersonation and other exam malpractices facing the Board.
  Candidates pay between 200k-300k to people to write their examinations, said Oloyede and that the board had reduced the number of available exam centers to avoid malpractice.
It was also gotten that the JAMB registrar stated that about 40% of candidates had gotten their NIN, while others are still making efforts to get theirs.
These are list of vital information picked from the registrar’s speech;
NIN was introduced this year for registration and the board is collaborating with NIMC;
The current campaign against NIMC, he sees as a deliberate effort to run down the commission and deter cooperation between them, though can’t say they are all upright, rather people should be vigilant. 'They are collaborating with them, the commission is upright, just last week they sacked 5 of their staff for collecting bribe, so when you are interacting with them don’t have in mind you are interacting with corrupt people;
He will be happy if people expose the corrupt persons,
 He urged the Computer Professional Registration Council of Nigeria, to pay particular attention to CCTV cameras, adding that they are aware some exam centers are tampering with CCTV cameras in collaboration with some of the board’s technical officers.
This he said wouldn’t have been possible if their technical officers didn’t collaborate with them because it is in the server room
