Will JAMB still make use of your NIN

JAMB 2020 and NIN Policy

Candidates for the 2020/2021 UTME exam have been mandated to acquire their national identity number NIN for participation in the 2020/2021 JAMB UTME registration exercise and exam.
The issue had been earlier discussed in our previous post. But today we will update our blog readers with current issues concerned.
It is now fully known that the board had instructed prospective applicants to get their NIN from various NIMC offices nationwide to be able to take part in the 2020/2021 jamb examination. This they said would help improve and sustain the credibility of the UTME exam, as it will help solve problems relating to exam malpractice, eg, exam  impersonation, underage registration, multiple registration and the likes.
Naijaedulib uses this platform to advice prospective jamb candidates to obtain their NIN at any of the enrolment centres nationwide as fast as possible.
Meanwhile, the Federal House of Representative had early last month, reacted to the jamb policy on no NIN no jamb registration. The lower house urged jamb to extend the use of NIN  till 2021 as some candidates may be disadvantaged by the policy owing to some factors impeding some prospective applicants from being enrolled on time as needed.
This was followed by a motion presented by Zanab Gimba (APC Borno) who called for the review of the policy as she presented some reasons while NIN requirement should be extended to 2021.
Prospective JAMB candidates are however advised as a matter of need to obtain their NIN at any NIMC enrolment center closest to them because no one can guarantee  whether it may be adopted or not for the yet-to-be announced 2020 UTME registration.
At this point, naijaedulib reports that jamb had Warned the general public that the purchase of forms for 2020/2021 jamb exam have not commenced, saying that the admissions exercise for 2019 is still in progress.
Nevertheless, the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mohammadu Buhari had honored  the JAMB registrar prof. Oloyede with the National Productivity Order of Merit(NPOM) Award alongside the vice-chancellor of Lagos State University, prof Olanrewaju Adigun and twenty-three others.
