JAMB EXPLAINS WHY THEY WON’T RELEASE RESULTS NOW

JAMB has continued to delay the results of 2019 UTME exams which had already started creating tensions and worries in candidates and parents/guardians.

  The JAMB’s head, Media and information Dr Benjamin spoke that the body should be given the room to do the necessary and right thing before they release the result, adding that although, the results were earlier released for the subsequent years (2017-2018), it was however paramount for the body to improve on her credibility onwards.

  Candidates had in the past escaped with illicit activities they carried out during the board’s examination, which would no longer be allowed to continue, said the JAMB official.

He added that JAMB will take time to scrutinize the outcome of the examination, to ensure that what they offer to tertiary institutions would make them proud of what they get from the examination body.

 Neither admission nor any policy meeting will start this month, such that delay can’t affect any item on their timetable, he explained.

  He also reiterated, that UTME results are still intact and that their servers never crashed, saying that 2019 exam exercise witnessed examination malpractice but not as intense as they used to be, just that they went unnoticed because of the way they were previously handled.

  Dr. Benjamin opined that illegality had thrived for long in the society because people failed to follow issues to logical conclusion, but they presently have resolved to do the needful.

 Thus, seeking the support of Nigerians to achieve that purpose.
  He further stated that higher institutions would be proud of it, as their target is to fish out and punish erring candidates.
